to work. just watching an interesting computer model. it's been a deluge, awful travel in san francisco the last couple of days. for tomorrow, watch california, here comes a next system. so another day in san francisco and seattle with rain. by monday, the west coast clears out. but here's the little interesting nugget that could happen. on monday, watch what happens here in the gulf. moisture comes up from the gulf, an area of low pressure develops. this is the deep south. birmingham to new orleans to atlanta, could be a wet christmas. rain, not a white one. then we could see this area of low pressure develop, and it's from tuesday to thursday in the mid-atlantic and northeast, we could be looking at another storm. we'll have to keep our eyes on that model. forecast, though, for today, pretty blustery. watching us from the northeast, new york city could see a few snow showers coming down. but the winds are pretty strong. so it's pretty chilly. so some snow in western great lakes. of course, we're seeing that, the lake-effect snow guns firing off. another wet day on the west coast, rand

east. even tomorrow in san francisco, we'll see some sunshine before another round of heavy rain moves in tuesday night into wednesday morning. here's the setup. it hasn't changed. the area of low pressure is steering the storms on shore. you can see that second storm on the left side of your screen is the one that's going to move in for tuesday night. but the heavy rain is over sacramento and san francisco. but it's push iing eastward. we're also going to see that second round of rain bring four or five inches of rain. so something to keep in mind for monday night and tuesday. then as we go into the rest of this afternoon, the hours across the great lakes will push eastward. the fog now is being replaced by shower activity. we're going to see some very warm temperatures. we could see records in phoenix, tallahassee, milwaukee and even washington, d.c. will be close to breaking a record high. a lot going on across the country. it's rather bizarre. >> thank you very much. >>> new today tom cole is responding to criticism from members of his own party. the politician suggested the gop sh

here out of san francisco where a tree, big tree fell on a car here with the rain. it's not just been the rain but we have seen very windy conditions with some of these storms. and even into san francisco headed into the higher elevation. we see winds gusting over 100 miles per hour. big problems there back to your first alert forecast for the day today. into the northeast. that white where you see the snow. don't worry about that that's very very light. could cause a little bit of a dusting. may be on some brings and overpasses. be a little bit careful as you are driving today. not going to be any big problems. down to the southeast, the nice conditions continue, a ton of sunshine. very comfortable temperatures. we need rain here. unfortunately it doesn't look like we are going to get any significant rainy time soon. but, try to enjoy the nice temperatures. into the northern plains, also i will tell you we are talking about temps well above average all across the eastern two thirds of the country. that's going to be the case here into the northern plains. out across the west today a

is in san francisco because of some weather moving there. otherwise throughout the countritis looking pretty good. it's been pretty painless at major airports throughout the weekend. that is despite some high winds yesterday in the northeast which caused minor headaches over there. drivers across the country have been dealing with snow and ice in some parts of the country. but after thursday and friday, miserable weather there. prompted more than 1,600 cancellations throughout the country. this weekend has been a welcome relief for many of these travelers. what we'll need to watch is over the week ahead there will be a storm right now in the west coast and moving east. that will cause many disruptions across the country for many travelers and it's something they'll be watching. again right now, things are looking pretty good at the airport. back to you, alex. >> i'm sure that's music to many people's ears. thank you very much, gabe gutierrez. >>> straight ahead, the big three on the fiscal fight. does house speaker boehner have any more negotiating room with the president? a restaurant is ,
